A tragic fire on Migdałowa Street in Warsaw’s Ursynów district resulted in four fatalities and left one person in critical condition Saturday afternoon.
Fire Breaks Out Near Office Building
A tragic fire occurred on Migdałowa Street in the Ursynów district of Warsaw, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. A fifth person was transported by helicopter to a Warsaw hospital in critical condition.
The incident began around 2:15 PM. Preliminary findings indicate the fire originated in a van parked near an office building on Migdałowa Street, quickly spreading to a ground-floor room and a nearby dumpster.
Evacuations and Rescue Efforts
Two individuals self-evacuated from the building before the arrival of emergency services. Firefighters rescued four more people from a single room. Despite immediate rescue actions, four people died at the scene from their injuries.
A fifth injured person was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition, while a sixth was transported by ambulance.
Extensive Emergency Response
A large-scale emergency response was launched, involving five fire crews, the Warsaw PSP deputy commander, city and provincial PSP operational groups, approximately eight medical rescue teams, and the LPR “Ratownik12” helicopter crew.
Investigation Underway
Police have cordoned off the area around the fire site. Following the completion of rescue and firefighting operations, further investigation will be conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor.
The exact cause and circumstances of the fire are currently unknown. Investigators will determine how the fire started in the van and why it spread to adjacent structures.
