A fire erupted in waste being transported by a garbage truck in Warsaw’s Wola district on Tuesday, April 7th, in the afternoon.

The truck crew’s quick response prevented the fire from engulfing the entire vehicle, and no injuries were reported.

Incident Details

The incident occurred around 4:10 PM at 7A Krępowieckiego Street. Waste in the truck’s cargo area caught fire.

The crew successfully ejected the burning waste from the truck, minimizing damage to the vehicle.

Firefighting Efforts

Two fire crews were dispatched to the scene. After emptying the truck’s container, firefighters began extinguishing the blaze.

The operation focused on searching through the discarded waste and extinguishing remaining hotspots. The fire was contained outside the vehicle.

Traffic Disruption and Resolution

Emergency services worked for just over an hour, concluding around 5:25 PM. During this time, Krępowieckiego Street was closed to traffic.

The fire was extinguished without any casualties or damage to the garbage truck itself. However, traffic was temporarily suspended, and the waste was thoroughly checked and extinguished to prevent reignition.
