On Christmas Eve 2025, Warsaw suffered several water main breaks that left residents in Śródmieście, Ursynów, and the Karmazynowa area without water until late night.
Water Shortages in the City Centre
Water supply was interrupted in Warsaw’s city centre from 10:30 a.m. on the 24th. The outage affected buildings on Hożej 41, Poznańska 11–16, and Wilcza 46 and 52. Operators said repairs were underway, with a projected restoration by 11:00 p.m.
Ursynów Blocked by Mainline Break
The outage in Ursynów began at 12:45 p.m. and impacted a closed estate around Jan Rosoła and Pachnąca streets. Affected addresses included Jan Rosoła 50 and Pachnąca 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66, 69, 71, 73, 75, 77 and 79. Repairs continued, expected to finish by 11:00 p.m.
Karmazynowa Zone Affected
A third break, identified by MPWiK, occurred in the Karmazynowa area. The company released a separate list of buildings experiencing a water shutdown in its “Emergency Exclusions” system.
