On Sunday, April 26, around 10 PM, a fire erupted at a vacant building on Urocza Street in the Wesoła district of Warsaw. The fire also affected items located near the building. Firefighters, paramedics, and police responded to the scene.
Four fire crews, a medical rescue team (ZRM), and a police unit were dispatched after receiving the report. Upon arrival, they confirmed the fire at the vacant building and the presence of burning items nearby.
Situation Under Control, No Injuries
Firefighters quickly brought the situation under control. No one was injured in the incident, and no one required hospitalization.
Arrest and Alleged Aggressive Behavior
A 51-year-old man, identified as the user or owner of the property, was found on the premises and was arrested by police. Neighbors reported that he was aggressive and threatened them during the arrest.
History of Fires at the Location
Residents of the area indicated this was not the first fire at the location. A neighbor stated that problems related to the property and the man residing there have been ongoing for some time.
According to her account, similar incidents had occurred in the past, with neighbors estimating around five fires. A recent incident involved arson, prompting police intervention, after which the man was released on-site.
Investigation and Forensic Examination
A forensic examination of the fire scene, involving a fire expert, is scheduled for Monday afternoon, April 27. The expert’s findings will help determine the cause of the fire.
Police are investigating whether the fire was intentionally set or occurred accidentally. The investigation is ongoing.
