From 13 to 16 November, 10 stations on Metro line M1 will be closed and trains will no longer stop at Warsaw Central, forcing extensive bus, tram and altered night‑time schedules.
Metro M1 Train Loop and Station Closures
Between 13 November 21:30 and 16 November midnight, the M1 line will operate only in two loops, Kabaty–Wilanowska and Młociny–Słodowiec, while the central segment—stations Wierzbno, Racławicka, Pole Mokotowskie, Politechnika, Centrum, Świętokrzyska, Ratusz Arsenał, Dworzec Gdański, Plac Wilsona, and Marymont—will be closed.
Work Scope and Replacement of Control Equipment
The closures are due to replacement and modernization of traffic‑control devices and traction modules in the central M1 section, with the municipal transport management also swapping the DC power board at Politechnika station.
Bus and Tram Replacement Services
Bus line ZM1 will run along the metro path between Wilanowska and Słodowiec, stopping at the closed stations with a 3‑minute day frequency (4‑minute on Sunday) and 5‑7.5‑minute evenings. Tram lines 61 and 76 will also serve the affected neighborhoods, while tram line 14 is temporarily suspended.
Special Night Service Adjustments 14/15 & 15/16 Nov
During night service on 14/15 and 15/16 November, ZM1 and line 61 run one‑way on an extended route to Wilanowska and Młociny, guided by a temporary timetable. Night tram line 14 is halted; line 13, 165 and 218 operate under updated schedules.
Warsaw Central Station Construction Impact
From 8 to 16 November, construction of a junction (“trapez”) at Warszawa Centralna forces long‑distance and some regional trains to bypass the station, rerouting them to Warsaw West, East, Gdańsk, or Main stations. The station’s commercial areas remain open.
Ticketing Integration and Line Adjustments
Koleje Mazowieckie and PKP Intercity are validating tickets interchangeably on Warsaw East–West, West–Main, and West–Gdańsk segments. S3 services are split into S3 (from Chopin Airport to Central) and S30 (from Warsaw East to Legionowo), with occasional stops at Warszawa Śródmieście to aid transfers.
