Warsaw Photographer Arrested on Rape Warrant After 8 Months on the Run

Małopole ‘headhunters’ arrested a 48-year-old Warsaw photographer wanted by warrant in connection with a verdict for raping a young woman. The man was apprehended on January 20, 2026, in an apartment in central Toruń and – according to police – has already been transferred to a prison, where he is to serve a 3.5-year sentence.

The Provincial Police Command in Kraków announced the arrest. The operation was conducted by officers from the Department of Search and Identification of Persons, known as ‘headhunters’, who specialize in locating individuals hiding from justice.

Crime Background

According to police information, the case concerns a crime that occurred during a meeting organized under the pretext of a photo session. According to the police statement, the man “arranged to meet a young woman in one of Warsaw’s hotels”, and during the meeting, a rape occurred. The victim reported the matter to law enforcement, and the conclusion of the proceedings was a guilty verdict.

After the verdict was announced, the man did not appear to serve his sentence. As the officers report: “The man heard the guilty verdict and then went underground”. On May 6, 2025, the District Court for Warsaw-Śródmieście issued a warrant for his arrest.

Investigation and Arrest

Police report that the breakthrough came in December 2025, when the Małopole ‘headhunters’ took over the case. During their investigation, officers determined that the wanted person might be hiding in Toruń. The arrest took place on January 20, 2026, in one of the apartments in the city center.

According to Małopole police, the man “holed up in an apartment from which he did not leave” and was surprised by the officers’ visit. After the arrest, he was taken to a prison, where he is to serve the imposed sentence of 3.5 years imprisonment.

The arrested photographer was previously known in the show business and modeling circles. The man specialized in portrait, fashion, business, and advertising photography, and his portfolio reportedly included photos of well-known people from the show business world, including musicians and actors.
