Warsaw police conducted a “Safe Transport” operation, inspecting nearly 1,200 vehicles and detaining 18 drivers, with a focus on foreign nationals.
Vehicle and Driver Inspections Conducted
Warsaw police carried out 1,190 vehicle inspections as part of the “Safe Transport” operation. Of those inspected, 952 drivers were foreign nationals.
The operation, conducted Friday evening and overnight, resulted in 38 vehicle registrations being withheld and 16 drivers losing their licenses due to technical deficiencies.
Illegal Presence and Traffic Violations
Nine drivers were found to be residing in Poland illegally, identified as citizens of Uzbekistan, Georgia, Tajikistan, and Colombia.
A total of 285 traffic violations and 13 road transport violations were recorded during the operation.
Multi-Agency Involvement
The operation involved officers from the Warsaw Police Traffic Department, the Prevention Unit, district and county commands, and specialized police stations.
Other services participating included the Nadwiślański Border Guard Division, the Road Transport Inspectorate, and the National Revenue Administration.
