Detectives from the Warsaw VI District Police Command have arrested a 40-year-old recidivist who repeatedly targeted a local drugstore, stealing nearly 10,000 PLN worth of merchandise over several months.
A Pattern of Persistent Theft
Officers from the Property Crimes Unit successfully identified and detained a 40-year-old resident of Praga-Północ. The man had targeted the same drugstore repeatedly between April of last year and January of this year, primarily stealing high-end perfumes.
Store employees estimated total losses from the series of thefts to be approximately 10,000 PLN. Following extensive cooperation between the police and drugstore staff, investigators analyzed gathered evidence and conducted field operations to track the suspect.
Legal Consequences for a Recidivist
The suspect was apprehended at his home several days ago. Due to his prior criminal record for similar offenses, he now faces formal charges for over a dozen thefts.
The investigation is currently under the supervision of the Warsaw-Praga Północ District Prosecutor’s Office. Because the suspect is a repeat offender, he faces a potential prison sentence of up to 7.5 years.
