Warsaw Police Boost ‘Safe Transport’ Operations

Coordinated efforts between Warsaw police, border guards and transport inspectors increased vehicle checks and deportations in 2025.

Operation Coordination

Warsaw Metropolitan Police Road Traffic Department, Warsaw Prevention Police, Road Transport Inspection, Wisła Border Guard Branch, precinct police, city representatives, and specialized units jointly summarized “Bezpieczne Przewozy” (Safe Transport) 2025 results. The initiative aims to enhance passenger transport safety through vehicle, driver, and passenger controls.

2025 Results

Analysis of 2024-2025 shows increased operational efficiency. Police checked three times more vehicles in 2025 versus 2024. Deportations of foreign lawbreakers quadrupled. Issued fines, seized registration certificates, and detained intoxicated drivers also rose.

2026 Enforcement

Operations continue in 2026. The latest weekend action (January 15-17) involved over 700 vehicle checks. Eight drivers lacked licenses. Police issued 94 fines totaling over 14,000 PLN, seized 3 driver’s licenses and 33 registration documents, and towed 7 vehicles. Violators included citizens of Colombia, Moldova, Nepal, India, Uzbekistan, Poland, and Ukraine (with a court driving ban).

Vehicle Safety Issues

Inspections revealed technical violations, including improperly repaired bumpers and excessively tinted windows compromising visibility. Drivers were required to remove illegal tinting on-site. Four individuals were illegally residing in Poland, and three were wanted by police. Police filed 12 court requests for violations.
