Warsaw Police Chase Ends in Crash After 50-Kilometer Pursuit

A high-speed chase involving a driver refusing to stop for police near Podkowa Leśna ended with a vehicle rollover in Sulejówek late Friday night.

Chase Initiated After Driver Fled

The pursuit began around 1:20 AM on Friday, April 3rd, after the driver of a vehicle failed to pull over for a police check near Podkowa Leśna, as reported by RMF FM.

Over thirty minutes later, the driver of an Audi lost control of the vehicle at the end of the S17 expressway in Sulejówek, colliding with a concrete barrier and overturning.

Five Hospitalized Following Crash

Five individuals were transported to the hospital following the incident.

One person was able to exit the vehicle independently, while six fire crews worked to extricate the remaining passengers who were trapped inside. The injured sustained fractures, contusions, and general trauma.

Driver Identified as Fugitive

The driver of the Audi was identified as a 24-year-old man wanted for a prison sentence, according to RMF FM. He had previously been convicted of endangering road safety.

The 24-year-old also had three driving bans in effect until 2028. Police were also searching for a 22-year-old female passenger who was among those injured.
