Warsaw police conducted 216 vehicle checks between 8 and 29 November, issuing 102 fines totaling 25,000 zł, and seizing paperwork, amid a safety push for passenger transport.
Operation Scope
Over a span of twenty-one days, from 8 to 29 November, Warsaw police carried out 216 vehicle inspections as part of the “Safe Transport” initiative aimed at ensuring road safety in the capital.
Findings on Driver Eligibility
Of those inspected, 17 drivers lacked the legal qualification to operate vehicles. The police also confiscated seven driving licences and 54 registration documents during the checks.
Alcohol, Drugs and Other Violations
Fourteen of the inspected drivers were found to be intoxicated, while three were under the influence of narcotics. An additional three drivers were already subject to an active driving ban.
Legal Outcomes and Seizures
Police issued a total of 102 criminal fines amounting to 25,000 zł and filed nine court requests for prosecution. The checks also uncovered that four drivers were unlawfully residing in Poland, five used forged licences, and two individuals were wanted.
Policing Units Involved
The operation involved officers from the Traffic Department of the Warsaw Police, the Border Guard, and the Road Transport Inspection. The activity will continue under their ongoing monitoring.
