Warsaw Police Deputy Commander Relieved of Duty After DUI Collision

A Warsaw police deputy commander was suspended and faces dismissal after being involved in a car accident while driving under the influence on April 22nd.

Collision and Initial Findings

The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 22nd. The officer was driving his personal vehicle during off-duty hours when he collided with another vehicle.

A breathalyzer test confirmed the officer was driving under the influence of alcohol, though police have not released the specific blood alcohol content.

Reported Blood Alcohol Level

Unofficial reports from RMF FM indicate the accident took place in Budzistowo, Kołobrzeg municipality, and the officer’s blood alcohol level was 1.5 per mille.

Disciplinary and Administrative Action

The Warsaw IV District Police Headquarters (Bemowo, Wola) announced the officer has been relieved of his position. A disciplinary proceeding was initiated the following day.

Dismissal Proceedings and Criminal Liability

According to a police statement, the Capital City Police Commander has initiated a disciplinary proceeding, as well as administrative procedures for suspension and dismissal from the service. The officer will also face criminal charges.
