On Thursday, 18 December, near Ciupaga Street in the Białołęka district, close to the Warsaw‑Białołęka investigative detention centre.
Escape Attempt
The young man fled immediately after exiting through the gate, spotting border‑guard officers, prompting an alert to the local police.
Search Operations
Over the following hours, numerous patrols searched potential hiding spots and probable addresses in the vicinity, coordinating between the Border Guard and police.
Arrest and Transfer
The following day, 19 December, officers of the Warsaw Praga Północ Police Command arrested the Ukrainian and, after completing necessary procedural actions, handed him to the Border Guard commander in Warsaw, requesting a decision to compel his departure pursuant to Article 302(1)(9) of the Aliens Act.
Legal Procedure
The decision to compel a foreigner to leave Poland is an administrative ruling that obligates him to depart within the specified timeframe; the Border Guard will carry out further enforcement.
