Warsaw Police Officer Intervenes in Brutal Street Attack

A Warsaw city center police officer stopped a violent assault on a woman near Constitution Square while on duty this morning.

Officer Intervenes During Attack

A city center police officer demonstrated quick action by intervening in an attack on a woman near Plac Konstytucji while en route to work. The officer observed a man brutally assaulting a woman, striking her in the head and kicking her body.

The officer swiftly subdued the 37-year-old attacker, who then threatened the officer’s life. The incident occurred shortly after 6:00 AM.

Investigation and Victim Account

The Warsaw City Center’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the incident and interviewing witnesses. The victim stated she did not know the attacker and was walking her puppy when she was struck from behind.

The attacker continued to assault the woman as she attempted to flee, and also kicked her dog, fortunately causing no injuries to the animal.

Attacker Details and Legal Proceedings

The attacker was taken into custody at the Wilcza Street precinct. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content exceeding two per mille. No dangerous items or narcotics were found on his person.

The attacker faces severe penalties and is currently in the custody of the Wilcza Street precinct, with further legal proceedings planned in coordination with the Warsaw Śródmieście District Prosecutor’s Office.

Officer’s Previous Work

The responding officer was also involved in a high-profile case from late February 2024, where he and other officers from the Violent Crimes Unit apprehended Dorian S., the perpetrator in the assault of a young Belarusian woman.
