The Incident

On Wednesday, February 25, around 13:00, the police station on Zakroczymska Street in Warsaw was closed after an envelope with unknown powder was brought inside. An elderly woman had reported finding the mysterious envelope in her mailbox and brought it to the station, prompting immediate police response.

Emergency Response

Due to the potential risk associated with the unidentified substance, police decided to evacuate and close the station. Firefighters were called to the scene, initially for reconnaissance, followed by the Special Chemical Rescue Group from JRG6. The specialists’ arrival was delayed as they were responding to another incident on Miecznikowa Street in Ochota.

Resolution

The chemical specialists arrived before 17:00, secured the area around the police station, cordoned off the perimeter, and established a safe zone. After examining the unknown substance, they found no threat. Emergency services terminated their operations, and the situation was declared under control. The police station reopened following the all-clear.
