Warsaw Prosecutor Pursues Minor Coerced into Prostitution

The Warsaw‑Praga North District Prosecutor’s Office has opened a criminal case against Robert J., who is accused of encouraging a minor to prostitution and providing drugs, and has been temporarily detained for three months.

Charges and Investigation Scope

The investigation concerns a range of serious offences with sexual and drug‑related elements that the police say were committed against a minor and another sex worker. It is being pursued by the Warsaw‑Praga North District Prosecutor’s Office against Robert J., who faces accusations under several criminal code provisions and the Act on Combating Drug Addiction.

Detention and Initial Arrest

Robert J. was initially detained on 9 November 2025 for possession of a psychotropic substance. Subsequent investigations revealed that he also was allegedly encouraging a minor to provide sexual services. The arrest followed the prosecutor’s statement that the suspect was suspected of drug possession.

Evidence Gathered

Collected evidence includes witness interviews, including those of the victim, searches and analyses of seized substances. This material formed the basis for the charges brought against Robert J., covering possession of psychotropic substances, distribution to a minor and offences related to prostitution.

Legal Basis of Allegations

The accusations are grounded in Article 62(1) of the Act on Combating Drug Addiction for drug possession, Article 59(1) and (2) for providing substances to a minor, and Article 204 of the Criminal Code regarding prostitution. The prosecutor categorised the actions under sections 1, 2 and 3 of Article 204, which denote high social harm.

Preventive Measure and Court Decision

The prosecutor applied for a preventive measure, citing risk of flight, lack of permanent residence and need for further crucial evidence. The court agreed and imposed a three‑month temporary detention on Robert J.

Potential Penalties

Prosecutor Karolina Staros warned that if convicted, Robert J. could face up to twenty years in prison. The investigation continues as authorities gather additional evidence.
