Significant disruptions to the Warsaw Commuter Rail (WKD) line will begin on May 4th, 2026, due to track repairs and will last until May 28th, 2026, with bus replacements.
Track Repair Work to Impact Service
The changes are related to the next stage of the investment “Repair of the railway track surface to improve traffic safety on the WKD line.” The work includes rail replacement on the Komorów – Podkowa Leśna Główna section, reconstruction of bridges into culverts on the Komorów – Podkowa Leśna Główna route, and rail replacement in track no. 2 at the Podkowa Leśna Główna station.
Weekday Service Adjustments (May 4-28)
On weekdays from May 4th to 28th (excluding May 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd), trains will operate between Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska – Warsaw Śródmieście WKD, Milanówek Grudów – Podkowa Leśna Zachodnia, and Komorów – Warsaw Śródmieście WKD. Trains on the Warsaw Śródmieście WKD – Komorów section will run every 13–14 minutes during peak hours and every 20 minutes off-peak. The Komorów – Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska section will have a frequency of 40 minutes throughout the day. Trains between Milanówek Grudów and Podkowa Leśna Zachodnia will run every 40 minutes during peak hours and every 80 minutes off-peak. A transfer point will be organized at the Podkowa Leśna Zachodnia stop for trains to and from Warsaw Śródmieście WKD.
Full Service Suspension & Bus Replacements (May 14-22)
A separate traffic organization will be in effect on Thursday and Friday, May 14th–15th and May 21st–22nd. Train traffic on the Otrębusy – Podkowa Leśna Główna section will be completely suspended, and passengers will be served by replacement bus service. ZKA buses will operate on this section every 30 minutes throughout the day. Trains will then run between Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska – Podkowa Leśna Główna, Milanówek Grudów – Podkowa Leśna Główna, Otrębusy – Warsaw Śródmieście WKD, and Komorów – Warsaw Śródmieście WKD.
Adjusted Schedules During Suspension Dates
During these days, trains on the Warsaw Śródmieście WKD – Komorów route will run every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes off-peak. On the Komorów – Otrębusy section, trains will run every 30 minutes throughout the day, as will the Podkowa Leśna Główna – Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska route. Connections between Milanówek Grudów and Podkowa Leśna Główna will be provided every 60 minutes throughout the day.
Weekend Service Changes (May 9-10 & 16-17, May 24)
Changes will also affect weekends. On Saturday and Sunday, May 9th–10th, trains will operate between Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska – Warsaw Śródmieście WKD, Milanówek Grudów – Podkowa Leśna Zachodnia, and Komorów – Warsaw Śródmieście WKD. On the Warsaw Śródmieście WKD – Komorów section, trains will run every 20 minutes throughout the day and every 40 minutes during off-peak hours. On the Komorów – Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska route, trains will run every 40 minutes, and on the Milanówek Grudów – Podkowa Leśna Zachodnia section, every 80 minutes.
Further Weekend Disruptions & Bus Service
A special train and bus schedule will also be in effect on Saturday and Sunday, May 16th–17th, and on Sunday, May 24th. The Otrębusy – Podkowa Leśna Główna section will also be completely closed to train traffic on these days. Trains will run between Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska – Podkowa Leśna Główna, Milanówek Grudów – Podkowa Leśna Główna, and Otrębusy – Warsaw Śródmieście WKD. ZKA buses will run between Otrębusy and Podkowa Leśna Główna every 30 minutes throughout the day.
Saturday, May 23rd – Specific Schedule
On Saturday, May 23rd, a special schedule will also be introduced. The Otrębusy – Podkowa Leśna Główna section will be served by replacement buses running every 30 minutes. Trains will run between Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska – Podkowa Leśna Główna, Milanówek Grudów – Podkowa Leśna Główna, and Otrębusy – Warsaw Śródmieście WKD. On the Podkowa Leśna Główna – Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska section, connections will be provided every 60 minutes from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and every 30 minutes at other times.
Important Information Regarding Bus Stops & Ticketing
WKD points out that from May 14th–17th and May 21st–24th, the Otrębusy – Podkowa Leśna Główna section will be completely closed to train traffic. Replacement buses will be coordinated with trains terminating or starting at stations and stops serving as transfer points, namely Otrębusy and Podkowa Leśna Główna. The “Podkowa Leśna Wschodnia” stop does not have a corresponding replacement bus stop. Passengers should use the ZKA Podkowa Leśna Główna WKD 01/02 stop, which can be reached via Jeleni or Akacjowa Street.
Travel on replacement buses will be possible with a valid WKD ticket – single or period. Due to the inability to validate single tickets on the bus, passengers starting their journey must manually validate the ticket by permanently entering the date in the format dd:mm:yy and the time of the journey in 24-hour format, i.e., hh:mm.
Ticket Validity & Refunds
From May 4th to 28th, all valid WKD period tickets will be honored on Mazowieckie Railways trains on the Grodzisk Mazowiecki – Warsaw Śródmieście or Warsaw Centralna section. Passengers using the “Joint ZTM-KM-WKD ticket” offer will be able to travel on Mazowieckie Railways trains on the Warsaw Śródmieście – Warsaw Ursus Niedźwiadek section, which WKD indicates as equivalent to the Opacz station.
Passengers who forgo traveling on WKD trains will be able to return period tickets: weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly. This applies to tickets purchased no later than May 3rd, 2026, and valid for travel from May 4th, 2026, or later. The refund may cover tickets that are completely unused or partially unused, proportionally to the number of unused days, without any deduction for cancellation fees.
Refunds for tickets purchased at ticket offices or ticket machines are made by ticket offices. For tickets purchased in mobile vending machines, the Customer Service Center handles the process at 22 437 92 85 on weekdays from Monday to Friday. For tickets from stationary vending machines, the Customer Service Office in Warsaw at Al. Jerozolimskich 181A is indicated, open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For tickets purchased through the WKD website, a written complaint must be submitted.
