Warsaw Residents Visit Cemeteries Yesterday in Sunny Weather

Yesterday, on Friday 31 October, wardens and commuters flocked to Warsaw’s cemeteries, enjoying warm, sunny skies and easy parking before the All Saints’ Day ceremony.

Morning Conditions and Parking Access

Although All Saints’ Day is tomorrow, many Warsaw residents visited the cemeteries today, Friday 31 October, enjoying sunny, warm weather. Until mid‑afternoon, most cemeteries still offered available parking and easy access to graves. Cemetery transport ran in limited service, but will be strengthened from tomorrow.

Temporary Traffic Adjustments for 1–2 November

To accommodate the 1st and 2nd of November events, temporary traffic changes will be introduced around Warsaw’s largest cemeteries. One‑way streets, local closures, parking bans, and designated stopping zones will appear in areas such as Powązek, Bródno, Wola, and the North. Police and local traffic officers will control traffic, and access will follow designated detours; visitors are advised to park farther from main entrances and walk instead to ease service vehicle and public transport movement.

Public Transport Enhancements

Public transport will launch special cemetery lines and reinforce selected bus and tram routes, with more frequent schedules and additional services during peak hours. The metro will operate at reduced intervals, and transfer‑friendly measures will be introduced at stops near the necropolises. The city recommends using public transport as the fastest way to reach cemetery gates during peak visiting times.

Visitor Reminders and Wildlife Note

Visitors are asked to remember the smaller residents of the cemeteries – squirrels. Bringing a handful of nuts is advised, as today at the Powązki Military Cemetery, entire groups of friendly animals prowled passer‑by in search of treats.
