Fire Breaks Out During Renovation

Four people died and two were injured in a tragic fire that occurred on Saturday, March 21st, at 4 Migdałowa Street in Warsaw’s Ursynów district. The fire engulfed a shooting range on the ground floor of a building, a parked van, and a trash container.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon. Firefighters, medical rescue teams, police, and a helicopter from the Air Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene. Initial reports indicated a vehicle and the ground-floor shooting range within an office building were ablaze.

Casualties and Hospitalizations

The fire’s toll proved tragic, with four deaths confirmed at the scene and two injuries reported. One injured person was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition by the LPR helicopter, while the other received on-site medical attention and was transported to a hospital by road.

Cause Under Investigation

According to Artur Gonera, the Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service, preliminary findings suggest the fire originated in the renovated, long-inactive shooting range. The fire then spread to a van parked nearby. Authorities emphasize that the exact causes and circumstances of the fire will be determined through further investigation.

Victims Identified as Renovation Workers

Police reported the victims were men, citizens of Poland and Ukraine, approximately 40 years old. Investigations reveal they were employees of a renovation company working at the site when the fire broke out.

Police Investigation Underway

“Police investigators and the prosecutor, with the assistance of a fire expert, will investigate the causes of the fire that occurred today on Migdałowa Street in Warsaw. Tragically, four people died, and two were taken to hospital with injuries. The scene of the fire is being secured by officers from the Warsaw Police Prevention Unit” – reports the Capital Police Headquarters.
