Warsaw Tram and Bus Collision Injures Four

A tram and a bus collided in Warsaw on Washington Roundabout around 12:20 PM, resulting in four injuries and traffic disruptions.

Collision Details

A tram on line 24, departing from Rondo Waszyngtona, collided with the rear of bus number 123 as it was leaving the roundabout. Police, paramedics, and firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

Initial reports indicate that most passengers from both vehicles were unharmed and able to leave the accident site.

Injuries and Alcohol Tests

Three tram passengers and one bus passenger sustained injuries. Three individuals were transported to the hospital for medical attention. Both the bus driver and the tram operator tested negative for alcohol.

Traffic Disruptions and Rerouting

Warsaw Public Transport (ZTM) reported disruptions to tram lines 9 and 24 (towards Gocław and Wiatraczna) and bus lines 123, 138, and 509.

Tram lines 9 and 24 have been rerouted via Poniatowskiego Avenue, Zieleniecka Avenue, and Grochowska Street. Buses have been rerouted, maintaining all scheduled stops, using Zieleniecka Avenue, Poniatowskiego Avenue, Szczecińska Embankment, Poniatowskiego Avenue, and Francuska Street.

Bus line 521 will make additional stops at Skaryszewski Park 02 and Kinowa 02. ZTM warns of potential delays on the affected lines.

Investigation Ongoing

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
