A tram on line 26 derailed while reversing at the Młociny loop in Warsaw around 11:00 AM, causing service disruptions for 90 minutes.
Tram Derailment at Młociny Loop
Around 11:00 AM today, a tram on line 26 derailed at the Młociny loop. The incident occurred while the tram was reversing on a switch. No injuries were reported, and disruptions were limited to tram traffic within the loop area.
The derailment happened during a technical maneuver. As the tram reversed onto the switch, it left the tracks. Warsaw Tramways technical teams were dispatched to secure the area and restore service.
Emergency Services Respond
Emergency power services were also involved, disconnecting power to the overhead lines to ensure safe continuation of the work. Heavy-duty cranes were then used to lift the tram and reposition it onto the rails.
Service Restoration and Diversions
The entire operation to re-rail the tram took approximately 90 minutes. During this time, tram traffic was blocked only within the Młociny loop. Service resumed around 12:40 PM.
