Warsaw Tree Toppled by Wind; Firefighters Secure Building

On Friday morning, October 31, Warsaw firefighters were still clearing the effects of Thursday’s landslide and strong wind when they secured a tree that had fallen onto a residential building on Wielicka Street in Mokotów.

On Friday morning, the fire brigade was still working to remove the effects of Thursday’s landslide and the strong night wind. One of the interventions was carried out on Wielicka Street in Mokotów, where firefighters secured a tree that had toppled onto a residential building.

District-Wide Wind Damage Response

Since Thursday evening the brigade received numerous calls about wind damage—broken branches, fallen trees, and debris on roads and sidewalks throughout the Masovian region. In total, more than 200 interventions were logged, mainly aimed at removing hazards to pedestrians and drivers, clearing streets and protecting damaged infrastructure.

Efforts to Restore Traffic Safety

In Warsaw, work was being carried out in several districts concurrently. The morning operation in Mokotów was specifically aimed at restoring safe traffic flow near Wielicka Street.

Public Safety Advisory

Fire services urged residents to call 112 immediately if they notice dangerously leaning trees or loose debris near footpaths or roads. The priority was to eliminate direct threats and minimise traffic disruptions.
