A fire broke out Sunday, March 29th, around 8:50 AM in a warehouse on Zabraniecka Street in Warsaw, prompting a large emergency response.

According to reports from Miejski Reporter, the fire occurred on Sunday, March 29th, at approximately 8:50 AM in a warehouse on the premises of a scrapyard at 5 Zabraniecka Street. Journalists determined that paper waste was stored there.
The fire engulfed approximately 70 percent of the facility, which measures 25 by 50 meters.
Emergency Response
According to PAP, 17 fire crews were dispatched to the scene. The response included a specialized chemical-ecological unit from JRG 6, a tanker from JRG 17, and the city’s operational group.
The firefighting operation was coordinated by Jakub Okólski, acting Deputy City Commander of the State Fire Service.
Difficult Firefighting Operation
Miejski Reporter journalists determined that there are no other buildings near the burning warehouse, eliminating the risk of fire spreading. However, the stored material made extinguishing the fire difficult, hindering thorough damping and clearing of the debris.
Cause of Fire Unknown
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Services will begin investigating after the fire is contained and initial procedures are completed. The process of extinguishing the stored material is ongoing.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, according to st. asp. Krzysztof Kosecki of the Warsaw city fire department, as reported by PAP.
