Warsaw’s Old Town to See Road Closures for Good Friday Procession

A Good Friday procession will disrupt traffic in Warsaw’s Old Town on March 20th, with buses rerouted and key streets closed.

Procession Route and Closures

The procession begins at 7:30 PM on Castle Square and will proceed along Świętojańska Street, through the Old Town Market, Nowomiejska, Freta, through the New Town Market, Kościelna, Freta, Długa to Krasiński Square, and back via Freta, Nowomiejska, Krzywe Koło, through the Old Town Market, Jezuicka, Kanonia, through Castle Square, and Krakowskie Przedmieście to the Holy Cross Basilica.

The event is expected to conclude around 9:30 PM.

Bus Rerouting – Krasiński Square

If passage through Krasiński Square is blocked, buses on lines 116, 178, 180, and 503 will be diverted via Bankowy Square, while line 518 will terminate at the Ratusz-Arsenał Metro station.

Bus Rerouting – Krakowskie Przedmieście

During the closure of Krakowskie Przedmieście, lines 106, 111, 116, 128, 175, 178, 180, and 503 will operate via Królewska Street, through Małachowski Square, and then Mazowiecka to Świętokrzyska.
