Water Leaking from Roof at Poznan Train Station Sparks Emergency Response

Emergency services responded to a water leak at Poznan train station on Friday morning after a burst pipe triggered a false fire alarm.

Incident Details

The incident occurred on Friday, February 6. After 7:00 AM, one of the water supply pipes burst, causing water to flood the station area. According to Głos Wielkopolski, an alarm sounded and threat notifications were issued. People present on the premises were evacuated, and four fire brigades were dispatched to the scene.

False Alarm Situation

A water supply failure triggered a fire sensor, which caused one of the cars parked at the station to be flooded. “There is no danger, we treat the alarm as false,” reported the duty officer of the Wielkopolskie firefighters. The situation has been brought under control, and travelers can now return to the station.
