Poland is slated to experience a sudden warm spell this week, with temperatures rising across the country as an atmospheric front moves in on December 5.
No Wintery Weather Yet
The last few days have brought cold, frost, fog and drizzle. Yet the looming winter calendar will not bring snow, as forecasts predict no snowy landscape in the near future.
Sharp Warming From Sunday
By Sunday the western and Silesian regions could reach up to 10 °C, while nighttime frosts will mainly affect the north‑west and foothill areas; other regions will stay above zero.
Spring‑Like Temps in Winter?
The steepest rise is expected in the first half of the coming week, with many locales recording 8–12 °C, and locally up to roughly 15 °C in the west and southwest—values more typical of autumn or early spring than December.
Warm but Capricious
Despite higher readings, the weather will remain variable, dominated by clouds, stronger winds and frequent rain showers, also affecting mountainous areas.
Temperatures Likely to Return to Normal by Dec 12
Meteorologists warn that this wet, autumn‑like character could persist until mid‑month; temperatures are expected to revert to recent lows by Friday, December 12.
