The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has released its weekend outlook, forecasting varying temperatures and localized precipitation across the country from May 22 to May 24.

Friday’s Outlook

On Friday, May 22, the weather will be characterized by small to moderate cloudiness, with periods of increased cover. In the northeast, light, passing rain showers are expected. Temperatures will range from 18°C to 23°C, though cooler conditions of 16°C to 17°C are likely in the Carpathian foothills and coastal areas. Winds will be light to moderate, with gusts expected on the coast, in the southeast, and up to 55 km/h in the high Carpathians.

Nighttime will bring small to moderate cloudiness, with heavy mist or short-term fog limiting visibility to 300 meters in northern and northwestern regions. Minimum temperatures will range between 7°C and 12°C, dipping to around 5°C in the Carpathian valleys.

Saturday Forecast

Saturday, May 23, will see cloud cover oscillating between small and moderate, with light rain possible near the coast. Daytime highs will reach between 20°C and 21°C in the northeast and east, approximately 23°C in central regions, and up to 26°C in the west. The Hel Peninsula and Carpathian valleys will remain cooler at 17°C and 19°C, respectively.

During the night, light cloudiness is expected, except in the north and northwest, where increased clouds may bring light rain. Minimum temperatures will range from 9°C to 10°C in the south and southeast, up to 13°C in the center, and 15°C in the west. The Carpathian foothills will experience colder conditions, near 7°C.

Sunday Weather Conditions

Sunday, May 24, will feature temperatures exceeding 20°C, with highs ranging from 22°C in the Suwałki region and parts of Pomerania, to 25°C in the center and south, and up to 28°C in the Lubusz region. While most of the country will experience light to moderate winds, gusts are expected on the coast and during storms.

Passing rain showers and local thunderstorms are forecast for Sunday. These weather phenomena are expected to miss only the northern and northwestern parts of Poland.
