The White House stated President Trump is prepared to escalate military action against Iran if Tehran doesn’t accept current realities and resume negotiations.
White House on U.S. Plan for Iran
Karoline Leavitt discussed the U.S. proposal during a briefing at the White House, emphasizing that Tehran should understand the current situation and not expect Washington to soften its stance.
“If Iran does not accept the realities of the current situation, if it does not understand that it has been defeated militarily, President Trump will ensure that it is hit harder than ever before,” the spokesperson stated. She added that “President Trump is not bluffing and is ready to unleash hell.”
Leavitt reiterated Donald Trump’s earlier statements that Iran is “looking for a way out” of the war, and negotiations are ongoing. She also addressed reports of a 15-point U.S. proposal to end the conflict, noting that the information in the media “has elements of truth” but “is not the whole truth.”
Leavitt on the Strait of Hormuz
The spokesperson declined to elaborate on Trump’s Tuesday statement that he received a “gift” from the Iranians related to the flow of oil and gas through the Strait of Hormuz, which the Times of Israel reported may have involved allowing several tankers to pass.
Leavitt also stated that U.S. forces have struck 9,000 targets in Iran, including underground storage facilities with anti-ship missiles near the Strait of Hormuz. The destruction of over 140 Iranian vessels is making Operation “Epic Fury” the most destructive action of its kind since World War II.
