Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expected to visit Ukraine with news of 90 billion euro EU loan after capitals fail to agree on frozen Russian assets.
Polish Prime Minister to Visit Ukraine
In the near future, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, will visit Ukraine.
The situation in the country repelling Russian aggression is exceptionally difficult; attacks on energy infrastructure have cut off electricity and heat to hundreds of thousands of people when temperatures dropped to minus 25 degrees.
EU Loan for Ukraine
It is not excluded that the head of the Polish government will bring to Kyiv the good news needed by Ukrainians regarding an EU loan of 90 billion euros.
Frozen Russian Assets Not Used
Initially, frozen Russian assets on the territory of the European Union were to be used to secure the loan, but the capitals failed to build consensus around this concept.
Community Budget to Secure Loan
In the end, the Community agreed at the end of last year to a plan to take out a loan on capital markets secured by the community budget to ensure continuous financial support for Ukraine in the years 2026-2027.
