A PiS MP claims Ziobro sought asylum in Hungary from a “pro-Russian Orbán” because he was fleeing a “pro-German Tusk.”
MP Reacts to Criticism of Hungary
A PiS MP criticized the opposition for claiming Hungary, where Ziobro and Romanowski received asylum, is not a democratic country, arguing this undermines Hungarian election results. When addressed as “Madam MP,” she insisted she’s a deputy according to the constitution.
The MP also accused the governing coalition formed on December 13 of breaking the constitution and persecuting the opposition, claiming they persecute “everyone.”
MP’s Explanation for Ziobro’s Asylum
When asked why Zbigniew Ziobro sought asylum with “pro-Russian Orbán,” whose foreign minister received orders in the Kremlin, the MP stated that Ziobro was escaping from “pro-Russian, pro-German Tusk.” At one point, she also declared the discussion with the journalist “made no sense.”
Ziobro and Romanowski Reprimanded
The Committee on Rules, Parliamentary Affairs, and Immunity issued reprimands to PiS MPs Zbigniew Ziobro and Marcin Romanowski on February 10 for absences from Sejm sessions, following requests from the Marshal of the Sejm.
Marin Romanowski has not participated in Sejm work since July 8, 2025, absent for 41 days of sessions. Zbigniew Ziobro, according to RMF24, was absent for “more than 18 consecutive days.”
