Wild Boar Attacks 78-Year-Old Woman in Wołomin

A 78-year-old woman was seriously injured after being attacked by a wild boar while walking her dog on Reja Street in Wołomin on Wednesday.

Attack Details

The incident occurred between 12:00 and 13:00 on Wednesday, March 25th, on Reja Street in Wołomin. The woman was knocked to the sidewalk and bitten by the boar.

According to the victim, the animal suddenly emerged from bushes and attacked her, knocking her to the ground and then biting and striking her. She defended herself by kicking the animal before it fled.

Injuries Sustained

The woman sought medical attention at a hospital, where she received treatment for a laceration, an open wound, and a deep bite to her arm. She also sustained numerous abrasions and contusions.

Medical staff are investigating the possibility of rabies. Reports indicate the animal tore away a piece of her skin.

The Wołomin County Police Department confirmed receiving a report regarding the attack. This incident highlights the potential danger posed by wild boars in populated areas.

The Wołomin municipality has repeatedly warned residents against feeding wild boars, approaching them, attempting to chase them away, or inciting their dogs against them. They advise that sows with young are particularly dangerous and to contact authorities in threatening situations.
