Wrocław: Man Arrested After Explosive Detonation, Illegal Weapons Found

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Wrocław, Poland, after an explosive device was detonated, and police discovered bomb-making materials, firearms, and narcotics.

Explosion and Initial Investigation

The incident occurred in early March in one of Wrocław’s districts. Authorities determined the detonation of an explosive device was intentional. No injuries or significant property damage resulted.

Suspect Claims Hobby, No Extremist Links

The man claimed he treated the production of explosives and weapons as a hobby and did not intend to harm anyone. Preliminary investigations suggest he had no connections to criminal or extremist organizations and was not acting on instructions from abroad, according to Kom. Przemysław Ratajczyk of the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters.

Drug Detection and Pending Charges

Narcotics were detected in the suspect’s system. Despite this, he faces serious charges, and all versions of events will be thoroughly investigated. Police are collaborating with other services and analyzing electronic devices seized from the man.

Arrest and Driving Violations

Police located the man after receiving information about the explosion. During his arrest, he was driving a vehicle despite having an active court order prohibiting him from driving. A preliminary test also revealed the presence of drugs in his system.

Potential Sentence and Court Decision

The 39-year-old faces up to eight years in prison. He will be charged with manufacturing and possessing explosives, illegal possession of weapons and narcotics, violating a court-ordered driving ban, and driving under the influence of drugs. The court ordered his temporary arrest for three months.
