Ticket Inspector Assaulted in Wrocław
A ticket inspector was attacked while performing her duties on a tram in Wrocław. The incident occurred after she found passengers without valid tickets.
During the altercation, the woman was physically assaulted, knocked down, and thrown onto the platform, causing her to collapse. Her injuries are considered serious, and she is currently hospitalized.
Police Investigation Underway
Wrocław police have confirmed the incident and are investigating. Surveillance footage captured the images of the attackers – a group of three minors.
According to police, the teenagers did not, or refused to, present valid tickets during the fare check. The tram driver joined the two ticket inspectors on the platform, and a scuffle ensued.
Recurring Attacks on Transit Workers
The transit authority (MPK) reports this is the latest in a series of attacks on public transportation employees. Last week, inspectors were reportedly attacked with gas, also requiring medical intervention and hospitalization.
MPK Condemns Violence, Calls for Change
MPK strongly condemns the increasing aggression towards public transport workers. They are appealing for decisive action to end violence against drivers, conductors, and ticket inspectors.
The company issued a statement emphasizing the need to end tolerance for violence and fare evasion, stating, “This must change. Public acceptance of violence and fare evasion in public transport must end.”
Seeking Witnesses and Reporting Violence
Authorities are urging anyone who witnesses violence or suspects abuse to help potential victims. Actions to take include responding to sounds of arguments, screams, or unusual noises.

The “Blue Line” emphasizes that intervening can be a crucial step in helping someone escape abuse and ensuring their safety.
