Zbigniew Ziobro Confirms US Presence and New Role as Political Commentator

Former Polish Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro confirmed his presence in the United States on May 10, 2026, announcing he will serve as a political commentator for TV Republika.

Confirmed Arrival in the United States

Zbigniew Ziobro has confirmed he is currently in the United States following reports that emerged on the morning of Sunday, May 10, 2026. His presence was verified by a photograph taken at Newark airport in New Jersey, first reported by Telewizja Republika and subsequently by tvn24.pl.

Lobbying and Visa Controversies

According to Onet, the US administration was initially skeptical about Ziobro’s entry. Lobbying efforts by Patrycja Kotecka, former TVP president Jacek Kurski, and politicians associated with PiS are believed to have played a key role in facilitating his travel.

Reports from Wprost indicate that Ziobro may have obtained his visa as a collaborator or journalist for TV Republika. While TV Republika editor-in-chief Tomasz Sakiewicz did not explicitly confirm these reports, he announced that the station would present its own position at a later date.

New Professional Role

In an interview with Edyta Lewandowska for TV Republika, Ziobro stated that he does not intend to hide and wishes to utilize American freedom while observing events in Poland. During the conversation, it was revealed that Ziobro will now work as a political commentator for TV Republika.

Departure from Hungary

Ziobro remains a central figure in the investigation regarding irregularities surrounding the Justice Fund. He had previously sought protection and political support from Viktor Orbán’s government in Hungary, but his situation changed after Peter Magyar became prime minister in Budapest.
