Zbigniew Ziobro Surfaces in USA: The Role of TV Republika and Political Lobbying

Former Polish Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro appeared at Newark airport on May 10, 2026, amid reports of high-level lobbying and the possible use of a journalist visa to enter the United States.

Arrival in the United States

Zbigniew Ziobro is currently staying in the United States, according to media reports that emerged on the morning of Sunday, May 10, 2026. Photographs from Newark airport in New Jersey confirm his presence in the country.

Telewizja Republika was the first to report his stay, followed by tvn24.pl, which noted that the former justice minister had been spotted at the airport the previous day.

Lobbying Efforts in Washington

According to Onet, the U.S. administration was initially skeptical about the former minister’s entry. However, the situation reportedly changed following interventions by Patrycja Kotecka and former TVP president Jacek Kurski.

Reports suggest that these individuals, along with politicians associated with the Law and Justice (PiS) party, lobbied Washington to facilitate Ziobro’s entry into the United States.

The TV Republika Visa Controversy

A significant point of contention is the possibility that Ziobro entered the U.S. using a journalist visa. According to unofficial information cited by Wprost, he may have been granted entry as a collaborator or journalist linked to TV Republika.

Tomasz Sakiewicz, editor-in-chief of TV Republika, did not deny these reports when asked for comment. He announced that the station would present its own position at a later date, suggesting there may be truth to the claims.

End of Hungarian Protection

Ziobro remains a central figure in the investigation into irregularities surrounding the Justice Fund. In recent months, it was reported that he had sought political protection in Hungary under the government of Viktor Orbán.

This situation shifted following a change in the political landscape in Budapest and the appointment of Peter Magyar as Prime Minister, effectively ending Ziobro’s “umbrella” of protection in Hungary.
