Zelensky Highlights Negotiations, Warns of Kremlin’s Political Game

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced his team is negotiating with U.S. counterparts in Florida, while decrying Russia’s negative signals and ongoing war.

Ukraine’s delegations met with American officials in Florida on Friday and Saturday, with White House envoy Steve Witkoff and former U.S. President Donald Trump’s son Jared Kushner engaging Russia’s envoy Kirill Dmitriev. The talks, described as constructive, are to continue into Sunday.

Russian Drone and Bomb Strikes Continue

Zelensky reported that Russia deployed more than 1,300 assault drones, nearly 1,200 air bombs, and various rockets over the past week, targeting Ukrainian cities. Video evidence shows fires and destruction in Odesa and the surrounding region, which the president said are particularly hard hit.

Ukraine Secures Financial Guarantees, Pressures Russia

The European Council approved €90 billion in financial guarantees for Ukraine, while U.S.‑Ukrainian negotiating teams work on peace solutions. Sanctions on Russia are said to be effective, with Zelensky urging that the war imposes no benefits on the aggressor.

Kremlin’s Political Game Criticized

Zelensky warned that Russia’s actions—war crimes near borders, front‑line attacks, and relentless bombardment of infrastructure—are signals of a political game. He stressed that the world must not remain silent about these provocations.
