Ukraine’s President declares Russia’s spring campaign failed as war dynamics shift.
Offensive Assessment
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia’s spring offensive has concluded in failure, as it was planned to launch fully at the start of spring. He emphasized the war has evolved, noting that unlike the first year when combat paused in winter, offensives now occur year-round.
U.S. Negotiations
Zelensky affirmed the necessity of meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding trilateral negotiations on a peace agreement with Russia. He mentioned discussions should cover sanctions, drones, and the Middle East, and reiterated a proposed $35-50 billion drone production deal with the U.S. that was offered nearly a year ago without response.
Middle East Teams
The President clarified Ukraine is not fighting Iran and has dispatched three specialist teams to Middle Eastern countries to conduct drone-counter expertise missions. Each team consists of dozens of personnel tasked with assessing and demonstrating drone defense strategies.
Hungary Criticism
Zelensky accused the Hungarian government of fostering anti-Ukrainian sentiments within society, stressing that such harmfully affects neighborly relations, economies, trade, and post-war recovery efforts.
