Zelensky Visits Poland; Ukrainian President Arrives in Warsaw

According to the Kyiv Independent, citing the president’s office, Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Poland on Thursday, December 18 in the evening after departing on an official visit.

EU Summit Funding Talks

Earlier that same day, the Ukrainian leader participated in an EU summit in Brussels where European heads of state debated Ukraine’s financing. They agreed to fund a loan from frozen Russian assets, a point Zelensky confirmed during the meeting. Negotiations are now underway over guarantees for Belgium, which holds the frozen assets and fears Russian retaliation.
