Zelensky Warns Ukraine Could Lose Key Partner Over Peace Plan

On Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned his nation that accepting the peace plan could cost Ukraine a key partner.

President’s Warning Over Peace Plan

Zelensky addressed the nation via Facebook following the release of the peace plan to the U.S. administration on 20 November, confirming that Ukraine faces a critical choice between losing dignity or risking the loss of a key partner.

He described the situation as one of the toughest in recent history, highlighting the severe pressures Ukraine now faces.

Zelensky cautioned that the country might have to choose between preserving its dignity and maintaining its most important partnership.

Reaffirmation of the Presidential Oath

Zelensky recalled the oath he took when elected president in 2019, reiterating his commitment to defend Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence and uphold the rights and freedom of its citizens.

He emphasized that the oath is not mere protocol but a daily pledge he remains true to, with no intention to betray it.

The president stressed that national interest must be considered in all actions.

U.S. Pressure and Future Cooperation

Zelensky said the United States is pressuring Ukraine to adopt the peace plan and warned that the coming week would be “very difficult and stormy.”

He described Ukraine as the only shield separating Europe from Putin’s ambitions, recalling how Europe supported Ukraine after the February 24th attack.

Zelensky denied making loud statements, pledging calm collaboration with the U.S. and other partners while seeking constructive solutions with its main partner.
