Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty announced on Wednesday, January 21, during a press conference that a motion has been prepared to bring Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobra before the Tribunal of State. Czarzasty confirmed that all coalition club leaders have agreed to support the motion with their signatures.
Sejm Majority Awaits Arrest Decision
The Sejm majority is currently awaiting a court decision regarding Ziobra’s arrest. The Regional Court for Warsaw-Mokotów has postponed the arrest hearing until February 5. The prosecutor’s office had requested the arrest, which the Sejm had previously approved.
26 Charges Against Ziobra
The prosecution intends to present 26 charges against Zbigniew Ziobra, including leading an organized criminal group accused of embezzling funds from the Justice Fund. Ziobro oversaw these funds as Minister of Justice in the PiS government. He is currently in Hungary where he has received political asylum.
