On Thursday, 4 November, Poland’s anti‑corruption prosecutor Zbigniew Ziobro lodged a formal complaint with the National Prosecutor’s Office claiming that Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek fabricated a statement while submitting a motion to repeal prosecutor immunity.

Ziobro posted a message on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, outlining his complaint. He argued that the motion to lift prosecutor immunity was signed by another individual and that Minister Żurek affirmed a falsehood in that document. The complaint alleges a breach of the law and states that the motion should not be considered.
Second Complaint Raised with the Justice Club
A day earlier, Ziobro and Marcin Warchoł, acting for the Law and Justice Party, filed a separate complaint alleging that Minister Żurek and associated prosecutors disseminated the full text of the immunity‑repeal motion without permission. The complaint, delivered to the Sejm on Tuesday, was publicly disclosed two days later on a TV network’s website.
Government’s Counter‑Statement
The General Prosecutor’s Office had requested the removal of Ziobro’s immunity in late October and sought parliamentary approval for his detention. In an interview with Radio ZET, Minister Żurek defended his health, noting that he was frequently active despite illness and appeared in press conferences. He described himself as a victim of political manipulation, claiming that the allegations were baseless.
