Żurek Plans Action Against Ziobro Over US Visa Concerns

On Thursday, May 28, Waldemar Żurek announced on TVN24 that he will petition U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement if Zbigniew Ziobro’s American entry documents are proven to be unlawfully issued.

Potential ICE Intervention

Waldemar Żurek stated that should it be determined that the documents used by Zbigniew Ziobro to enter the United States were obtained illegally, he will formally contact U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) regarding the matter.

Legal Status of the Former Minister

The former Minister of Justice, currently in the United States, is a suspect in an investigation concerning irregularities within the Justice Fund. The National Prosecutor’s Office alleges that he led an organized criminal group and abused his position for criminal purposes.

Scope of Prosecution Allegations

According to the prosecutor’s office, Ziobro is accused of committing 26 crimes, including ordering subordinates to break the law to grant Justice Fund subsidies to specific entities, interfering in tender processes, and allowing unauthorized parties to receive funding.

Ziobro’s Departure to the United States

Last week, National Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Przemysław Nowak confirmed that Ziobro left Europe on May 9, traveling from Milan to the United States. He reportedly entered the country using a visa for members of foreign media.

Status of Extradition Proceedings

In mid-May, Żurek indicated that the prosecutor’s office has already prepared an extradition request for the PiS MP. This article is currently being updated.
