ZUS will pay pension increases of 5.3% starting February 27, with some seniors receiving up to 400 zł more monthly.
Payment Schedule Adjustments
ZUS is accelerating pension payments due to the 5.3% indexation. Since March 1 is a Sunday, individuals with payment dates on the 1st will receive their pensions on Friday, February 27. Regular payment dates are the 1st, 6th, 10th, 15th, 20th, and 25th of each month. March changes affect two specific groups.
Funds reach bank accounts one business day before the scheduled payment date, while postal transfers are delivered earlier due to mail carrier schedules. Some pension funds may appear on accounts as early as February 26 due to banking system technicalities.
Indexation Details
The pension indexation rate of 5.3% was confirmed after data publication by the Central Statistical Office. This exceeds the 4.88% initially recorded in the budget law. The mechanism is based on the law on pensions and benefits from the Social Insurance Fund.
The indexation applies to regular pensions, disability pensions, farmers’ pensions, and survivor’s pensions. No application is required as recalculation occurs automatically. The minimum pension will increase by approximately 100 zł gross monthly.
Post-Indexation Considerations
Experts recommend verifying not just the increased amount but also checking specific elements after the adjustment. In case of discrepancies, individuals can submit a request for clarification at a ZUS office or through PUE ZUS.
The increase also affects the 13th and 14th pensions, with higher thresholds still applicable to the “fourteenth” pension. The estimated cost of this year’s pension indexation is approximately 24.8 billion zł.
