Poland’s Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) will no longer accept documents through ePUAP as of March 12, 2026, rendering all submissions through this channel legally无效.
ZUS Discontinues ePUAP Service for Clients
As of March 12, 2026, applications sent to ZUS through ePUAP will no longer have legal effect. This means a document sent this way may be treated as if it was never submitted at all. Previously, ePUAP was one of the most popular ways to contact government offices.
Millions of People Affected by the Change
The change impacts millions of individuals using ZUS services, not just entrepreneurs or contribution payers, but also pensioners, disability pension recipients, and those applying for benefits. Until recently, sending documents through ePUAP was treated the same as officially submitting documents in person at an office.
Official Statement from ZUS
“As of March 12, individual clients can no longer contact ZUS through ePUAP. A document sent this way will not have legal effect,” stated ZUS in a press release. This means that if someone submits a request after this date through this channel, the office may consider it ineffective.
New Electronic Channels Available
Following this change, ZUS clients now have two main electronic contact options: the eZUS portal and the e-Doręczenia system. For many users, the eZUS portal will now be the primary way to interact with the institution.
Reform of Digital Communication
This change is not accidental but part of a larger digital reform of communication between citizens and public administration. The government is introducing a new system called e-Doręczenia, which will replace some of the existing platforms. The new solution will function like a registered mail with confirmation of receipt but in electronic form.
What Happens to Documents Sent Before the Deadline
An important note for those who still used ePUAP in the first weeks of the year: ZUS indicates that documents sent by March 11, 2026, will still be processed. After this date, however, the new rules apply.
ePUAP vs e-Doręczenia: Key Differences
As of March 12, 2026, ePUAP is no longer recognized by ZUS and documents sent through it have no legal effect. In contrast, both e-Doręczenia and the eZUS portal are official channels with full legal validity for submitted documents.
What to Do If You Already Sent a Document via ePUAP
Individuals who sent documents through ePUAP after March 12 should check the status of their submission. The safest solution is to submit the application again, either through eZUS or e-Doręczenia, or contact the ZUS infoline at 22 560 16 00 to receive specific instructions on what to do next.
