Polish police in Żyrardów have dismantled a drug laboratory and arrested three individuals following the discovery of nearly 15 kilograms of marijuana and over a kilogram of cocaine.
Criminal Investigation Uncovers Drug Production and Storage
Criminal investigators determined that narcotics were being produced and stored in Żyrardów, prompting immediate searches. A search of one warehouse revealed almost 15 kilograms of marijuana, 14 kilograms of another illegal substance, and over a kilogram of cocaine.
Drug Laboratory Discovered
Police uncovered a professionally organized laboratory used for drug production. Authorities seized over 100 kilograms of psychotropic substances and liquids used in the manufacturing process. Officials estimate the seized materials could have yielded approximately one ton of drugs.
Hazardous Conditions During Operation
The operation was complicated by dangerous conditions, requiring the assistance of specialists from the Forensic Laboratory of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Radom due to high concentrations of hazardous fumes and large quantities of chemicals.
Further Arrests and Charges
Following several days of securing the scene and collecting evidence, a 27-year-old woman, also a resident of Żyrardów, was arrested and charged with aiding and abetting the illegal activity, facing up to 20 years in prison.
Additional Suspects Face Charges
A 37-year-old man has been charged with drug production and possession of significant quantities of narcotics. He has been remanded in temporary custody. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Authorities state the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are possible.
