Wilanów police have apprehended a 39-year-old man suspected of breaking into a local restaurant and stealing over 110,000 zloty in cash, documents, and vehicle keys alongside an unidentified accomplice.
The Break-in and Investigation
The incident took place several days ago in Wilanów. Investigators determined that the suspects forced entry into a catering establishment using unauthorized access codes. Once inside, they raided office areas and removed two safes containing significant amounts of cash, bank cards, vehicle registration documents, and keys for three cars.
Upon receiving the report, Wilanów police launched an intensive operation. Officers secured surveillance footage, analyzed forensic evidence, and reconstructed the timeline of the crime, which eventually led to the identification of the 39-year-old Warsaw resident.
Charges and Ongoing Legal Proceedings
The suspect was detained and brought to the prosecutor’s office, where he was charged with burglary committed in concert with another individual. While police requested pre-trial detention, the prosecutor has currently ordered the suspect to remain under police supervision.
The case remains active as investigators work to recover the stolen property and identify the second perpetrator. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw Mokotów.
