A 24-year-old man stabbed his 29-year-old acquaintance in the neck in Ciechanów, Poland, and was arrested.
Attack and injuries
On the night of September 20–21, a 24-year-old man attacked his 29-year-old acquaintance with a knife in Ciechanów, causing neck injuries. The victim sought medical help at a hospital, where his wounds were treated. The injuries were not life-threatening, and he was discharged the following day.
Arrest and charges
Police quickly apprehended the suspect a few hours after the incident. After gathering evidence, the prosecutor charged the 24-year-old with attempted murder. On September 22, the court, at the prosecutor’s request, ordered a three-month preliminary detention for the suspect.
Legal consequences
Under Polish law, attempted murder carries a prison sentence ranging from 10 years to life imprisonment.
