Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that 92 Russian drones were intercepted, with 19 reaching Polish airspace.
Ukraine’s response to the drone threat
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that 92 Russian drones were heading toward Poland on September 10, but most were shot down. He noted that Ukraine intercepted some over its territory, while Poland downed four. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is in a state of war, unlike Poland, but both countries cooperated effectively.
Russia’s official stance
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that its forces launched a massive attack on Ukrainian military-industrial facilities in several regions, including Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, and cities like Vinnytsia and Lviv. The ministry denied targeting any locations in Poland. However, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk accused Russia of provocation, blaming it for damage to a house in Wyryki.
Ongoing drone attacks
Russia continues to attack Ukraine using drones, with Ukrainian forces reporting the neutralization of 97 out of 115 drones on September 27. The drones, including Shahed and Gerbera models, were intercepted across northern, southern, eastern, and central Ukraine.
