Opole: Parents Suddenly Lose Consciousness
On Sunday, August 10, an apartment in one of Opole’s residential estates put a 12‑year‑old in alarm over his parents’ health. Police report that a 45‑year‑old man and a 39‑year‑old woman suddenly began vomiting and repeatedly lost consciousness. The boy’s caregivers were unable to summon help on their own. A 6‑year‑old girl was also in the house. The determined teenager immediately called someone nearby and informed her of the unsettling situation. The woman promptly notified emergency services.
Determining the Cause
Police, firefighters, and medical rescuers arrived at the scene. The adults were transported to the hospital. “There is no threat to the safety and health of the residents of Opole. The children did not require medical help. Both the 12‑year‑old boy and the 6‑year‑old girl were placed under the care of relatives,” the police said. Preliminary exclusion of carbon‑monoxide poisoning was made. Police are investigating the circumstances.
Police Remind
Police congratulated the 12‑year‑old for his exemplary conduct. “Despite the life‑threatening situation, the boy kept his composure and immediately called for help. If his quick reaction had not occurred, a tragedy could have happened,” the officers emphasised. Police urge regular conversations with children about how to behave when help is needed. “It is worth reminding children when to call emergency number 112 and what information to give services. This knowledge can be crucial in any situation threatening a child or their relatives,” the Opole police stated.
