Brejza challenges Ziobro over Pegasus, demands face-to-face confrontation

Krzysztof Brejza calls for a public confrontation with Zbigniew Ziobro to expose alleged lies about the Pegasus surveillance scandal.

Ziobro takes responsibility before investigative commission

Former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro testified before an investigative commission, stating he bears political and constitutional responsibility for the purchase of the Pegasus spyware system. He emphasized that the agreement for the funds was signed by a former deputy justice minister and admitted that the surveillance of Krzysztof Brejza using Pegasus was “explained.” Ziobro also acknowledged that information obtained from Brejza’s phone via Pegasus had leaked into the public domain, stating, “Leaks happen.”

Brejza demands confrontation with Ziobro

Krzysztof Brejza called for a confrontation with Ziobro before the investigative commission, stating, “I request a confrontation (under the Code of Criminal Procedure) with Zbigniew Ziobro to crush all his lies, manipulations, and slanders in his face.” He also demanded the disclosure of all relevant documents, if not protected by confidentiality clauses. Brejza appealed to Ziobro, saying, “Let us stand on the battlefield and, in front of the cameras in the Sejm’s hall, I will prove to you the baseness of the practices you engaged in as justice minister.” Earlier, Brejza praised the commission’s work, stating that the truth about the Pegasus affair must be revealed to all victims of illegal surveillance.

Giertych to file complaint over Ziobro’s statements

Roman Giertych, a member of the Civic Coalition, announced he would file a complaint with the prosecution over Ziobro’s testimony. Giertych stated that Ziobro had falsely accused him of being a “thief who embezzled money from a company.” Giertych claimed Ziobro had lost six court cases against him and was seeking revenge for not being hired. He added that the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) found no evidence of wrongdoing in his case, stating, “Zero will always remain zero.”
